• Mats are fitted to surround the beam tightly from all angles, even in smaller setups, preventing gaps that could lead to ankle twists or tough landings.

• Check seams, corners, and surfaces for signs of wear, especially at points where gymnasts land or pivot.

• Schedule quick inspections at regular times each week, before wear becomes wide or loose enough to be distracting or risky.
